The common saying, “The best friendships come in threes,” comes to mind. Some of our favorite K-Drama friendship groups have come in trios. These groups usually have exceptional chemistry as they bounce energy off of each other. Especially the female friendships duos that have made us laugh and cry with them. Let’s take a look at some of our favorite K-Drama female friendship trios. Note: This list is not a ranking and is in no particular order.
1. “Twenty-Five Twenty-One” - Na HeeDo, Ko YuRim, and Ji SeungWan
Na HeeDo (played by Kim TaeRi), Ko YuRim (played by WJSN’s Bona), and Ji SeungWan (played by Lee JuMyoung) showed us the true meaning of friendship. They showed us what it is to be selfless, caring, and supportive in a friendship. Their dynamic was especially beautiful to watch as they grew up and faced the realities of life together.
2. “Weightlifting Fairy Kim BokJoo” - Kim BokJoo, Jung NanHee, and Lee SunOk
We loved Kim BokJoo (played by Lee SungKyoung), Jung NanHee (played by Jo HyeKyung), and Lee SunOk (played by Lee JooYoung) as a trio. Not only are they a trio of strong weightlifting women, which is amazing in itself, but they are a tight-knit group. They are always there for each other and understand each other better than anyone else. This trio also made us laugh with their silly heartwarming antics.
3. “The One And Only” - Pyo InSook, Seong MiDo, and Kang SeYeon
Pyo InSook (played by Ahn EunJin), Seong MiDo (played by Red Velvet’s Joy), and Kang SeYeon (played by Kang YeWon) are another trio that made us feel deeply with them. This trio grew close because of one thing they had in common: terminal illness. They showed us the meaning of making lemonade out of life when it throws you lemons. While helping each other live fully before their final days, they made us part of their family-like bond.
4. “Work Later, Drink Now” - Kang JiGu, Han JiYeon, and Ahn SoHee
Kang JiGu (played by Apink’s EunJi), Han JiYeon (played by Han SunHwa), and Ahn SoHee (Lee SunBin) are another lovable K-Drama trio. They made us laugh with their shenanigans and antics as they showed us the unique way that they choose to enjoy life.
5. “Thirty-Nine” - Cha MiJo, Jeong ChanYoung, and Jang JooHee
Cha MiJo (played by Son YeJin), Jeong ChanYoung (played by Jeon MiDo), and Jang JooHee (played by Kim JiHyun) made up another golden trio. Dealing with the heavy topic of loss, this trio took us on an emotional rollercoaster. They were like sisters and we could feel their strong bond through their compelling chemistry.
6. “Be Melodramatic” - Lee EunJoo, Im JinJoo, and Hwang HanJoo
Lee EunJoo (played by Jeon YeoBeen), Im JinJoo (played by Chun WooHee), and Hwang HanJoo (played by Han JiEun) showed us a super authentic friendship. They went through a number of unexpected life hurdles together and became a vision of support onscreen. They are a truly heartfelt trio.
7. “Reply 1988” - JungHwan, DeokSun, and SunWoo’s mothers
La MiRan, Lee IlHwa, and Kim SungYoung showed us the beauty of how friendships age. These ladies had a friendship that embodied the phrase ‘forever young’. From gossiping, loving deeply, and enjoying life - they became long-term friendship goals. Which K-Drama female friendship trio was your favorite? Let us know in the comments.
