Park JiHoon released the teaser for ‘SERIOUS’ on Oct. 25. In just under a minute he managed to deliver a powerful acting performance in the teaser reminding us not to forget that he is also a talented actor, on top of being a talented idol. This comeback concept is a lot darker than his previous comeback but carries an impact to match.
“HOT&COLD” consists of six tracks that Park JiHoon recommends listening to in order as it tells a story. The album is about how everybody has a hot and cold side when it comes to expressing love. The first song is ‘Escalator (Intro)’. It is followed by the title track ‘Serious’ which was written by PENOMECO and is a mix of hip-hop and pop with an addictive quality. The third track is ‘WANT!’. The fourth song is ‘CHEESE’. This is followed by the final two songs ‘LOVE GLASS’ and ‘All yours’. Park JiHoon explained more about his album at a comeback showcase yesterday. Here is everything that you need to know. Park JiHoon graced the stage in a designer Yves Saint Laurent tuxedo-inspired velvet jacket. The showcase started with a performance of his title song ‘Serious’. He stood out on stage with his backup dancers contrasting him in all-white outfits. He performed a funky stage with soft but powerful dance moves.

Afterward, he expressed how he felt about this comeback. When asked if he didn’t feel any strain making a comeback after such a short time, he said that he is maintaining his physical and mental health well by doing boxing and learning hockey. He also credits his ability to keep going to his fans and their support. Park JiHoon also explained that the main point about ‘Serious’ that he didn’t want people to miss, was the storyline about a man going through 4 stages of the cycle of love. Denial, rage, lingering attachment, and apology. He poured a lot into his acting to get this message across. He said that the emotion that was the most difficult to express whilst acting was when he had to cry. Because he has such a cheerful persona, he struggled to get the tears to come out but eventually immersed himself into the role and made them come out. In fact, if you look closely, this was emphasized by the single glittery teardrop that he rocked in his stage makeup. Thereafter, he performed his B-side song ‘CHEESE’ which has a video game-like pop melody. He said that his favorite part of performing it is the ending fairy pose where he acts like he is pulling a string of cheese. It was then time for a Q&A session. Kpopmap asked: Your teaser for this comeback showed a dark mood. Which concept of music do you think suits you best? A darker or brighter concept? I have a bit of greed in the sense that I want to show everyone diverse concepts. However, I think a darker concept suits me the best because it is the most comfortable. That’s because in my daily life I am not as full of aegyo as people think. Park JiHoon We definitely think Park JiHoon pulled off this concept. What do you think of his comeback?
